The Kaysville Church of Christ is a congregation composed of imperfect sinners who have been saved by the blood of Jesus Christ. Jesus, not the Church, is the means of salvation. Here at Kaysville, we are a family of believers who meet regularly to worship God and encourage one other. Our family here is diverse in backgrounds, spiritual and Biblical knowledge, cultures, socio-economic status, gender and age, but we gladly set our differences aside to be unified as God’s people.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16
As the name Christian suggests, we are simply followers of Jesus. We follow the commandments of God’s Word and let the Bible be our guide for all we say and do. For instance, throughout the book of Acts we read about how the early Christians worshipped and we follow that pattern today. From singing (Ephesians 5:18-21), praying (Ephesians 5:20), partaking of the Lord’s Supper each Sunday (Acts 20:7) and studying the Bible (Ephesians 4:11-16), we seek to worship God in the same manner the New Testament churches did. We strive to teach as they taught and being what they were — followers of Christ committed to worshipping God and bringing Truth to the world.
“…so that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. This was according to the eternal purpose that he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord…”
Ephesians 3:10-11
We have no ties to any religious body except that of Jesus Christ. While there may be many churches of Christ, we are not governed by any outside organization or board. Following Biblical example, we are responsible for our own worship and work. The church at Kaysville has elders (or shepherds); and deacons (servants) who assist the elders in physical capacities. We support the ministry of one local evangelist who labors with this congregation, in addition to several foreign evangelists. For more additional information or questions regarding who we are, don’t hesitate to let us know.
